My name is Steven Ward and it is my honor and privilege to teach at East Texas Charter High School.  2025 marks my 20th year in education.  I have taught at Marshall ISD, Hallsville ISD and Jefferson ISD before taking on my position here at Charter.  I am a graduate of Texas Tech University as I am originally from Lubbock.  My previous career was as a peace officer with the Texas Department of Public Safety where I served as a trooper, sergeant, and criminal investigator.  It was my law enforcement career that brought me to this area of Texas where there is green grass, trees and water.  I am married to my wife Jill who teaches English at Big Sandy High School.  I am excited about working with our young adults, your students, who all have great things to offer the world.  With commitment and compassion there is no limit to what our students can achieve and become.  I am very thankful to be in this position of service.  Please do not hesitate to call upon me should you have questions or concerns.
