Texas E-Cig and Tobacco Awareness Program
ETCS believes education and prevention are essential components of maintaining a healthy school environment. The required awareness program is intended to educate students about the health risks and legal consequences associated with nicotine and e-cigarette use while encouraging positive decision-making.
Any student found using or in possession of nicotine products and/or e-cigarettes will be subject to disciplinary action. In addition, the student will be required to successfully complete the Texas E-Cigarette and Tobacco Awareness Program within one week of the date of the infraction. The student’s parent or guardian will be notified of the violation and the requirement to complete the program.
Failure to complete the required program within the specified timeframe will result in additional disciplinary consequences, which may include suspension, and/or removal from enrollment at ETCS.
Students who commit repeat violations of this policy will be subject to progressively more serious disciplinary consequences. Repeated offenses may result in extended disciplinary action and may ultimately lead to removal from enrollment at ETCS, in accordance with school policy and applicable law.
